Both of our kids really like to read books with mom or dad but lately Koben has really liked reading one book in particular. It is "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Suess. Koben has a hard enough time pronouncing his words anyway, but when he gets excited he talks really fast and he eventually gets into a high pitched girly scream by the end of the sentence. This is hilarious and he does it nearly every night so I thought I would catch it on camera for everyone else to see. Sorry the video is kind of long and he doesn't really start getting funny until the end, but it's worth it. Enjoy!

Vance Wilson Lillywhite

Koben holding his new baby brother, I think they will have a lot of fun together.
The proud sister!
Sleeping through the first bath
So cute right from the start

Obviously the epidural is working!
The day before, sorry the pics are out of order.

I couldn't decide whether to give everyone the play by play of how the the events surrounding Vance's birth unfolded or just post a few pictures and call it good. However, given the length of some of my blog entries that are as insignificant as squishing a fly, the birth of my third child ought to stand out as blogworthy!

If any of you have talked to Amy in the last couple of weeks you would know that she has been very nervous about how things would turn out. With Koben's birth, things didn't work out with the epidural and Amy ended up having Koben naturally. To make things worse, she had to wait to push him out because the doctor was doing a c-section and wouldn't be availabe for a half an hour. Anyway all of this led Amy to be very nervous about this birth.

As of the 1st Amy felt pretty good and had only had a few consistent contractions and they hadn't been that painful yet. Somehow Amy knew that she would not be lucky enough to get to just meander into the hospital for her scheduled delivery the next morning. That being said we went to bed because her contractions had subsided and Amy even fell asleep fairly quickly. (Something that hadn't happened in a couple of weeks!) Only an hour and a half later Amy woke up with the urge to pee. When she did, it just didn't stop and she knew her water had broken at 1:00 in the morning with no real contractions. So we rushed to the hospital, forgetting half the stuff we had packed previously. The nice thing about having your water break is that they can't tell you that you are not in labor due to a lack of contractions. They admitted her, she had great nurses, the epidural worked great, she only had to push two times and the baby came out and was healthy. We were so relieved and happy. His stats are: 7 lbs 4 oz , 20 inches, born on Septmeber 2, 2009 at 7:20 am

Also we waited to find out the sex of the baby until he was born so that was king of exciting. Amy and I had kind of felt like it was going to be a girl, judging by how the pregnancy went. However most of the other family members who guessed said it was a boy. So in this case it turns out our little Violet grew a stem!

We only stayed one night in the hospital, and have now returned home and are loving having a new baby in the house. I forget how much of my sleep time they require, but they are so fun to have around.

We have also enjoyed having lots of family around and know we probably wouldn't be able to enjoy the baby so much without them around. Nana, Adam and Jessalyn, and Brad and Michelle have all taken turns watching our kids and even letting them stay the night at their houses and we really appreciate it.
