Of course, no trip to Laketown is complete without a trip to the beach to get a sunburn. Koben was still not feeling to good, but he managed to play in the water a little bit. Most of the time he sat in Amy's lap or in the tube just chillin'. We also built poop castles down by the edge of the water. Now whenever Ava tells anyone about the lake she says; "I went to the lake and there was water and poop!" That's probably more true than we know.

Grandma and Grandpa's House
We had two days off the week of the 4th so we drove up to Laketown to visit Grandma and Grandpa Lillywhite. Becky and her kids and Roy and Kathy and their kids were there. Unfortunately Frank and Koben both came down with fevers and were pretty sick the whole time. Props to Mom and Dad for getting a nice wood floor in the kitchen, it is way easier to clean vomit off of than the carpet would be. And that is important to the parents of a 1 year old with a fever, belly ache and a stomach full bright orange mexican rice!
The cat and the golf cart were a hit with the kids as usual. Ava just loves having Denver follow her around and chase the cat.

Insert Title Here
I honestly don't know what to write about this time. We have done plenty of things lately, that's just the problem though. There is too much to write about. I think I am going to start blogging similar to the way Grandma Wilson used to write letters. She used short simple statements that were full of information but very terse. I have noticed that some of her kids use this method to write as well. Those of you that know Grandma Wilson will recognize it immediately. Here it goes:
Went to Fred and Sara's wedding. It was wonderful.
Went to Laketown for the reception. The kids had fun with the cousins.
We will miss Tom and Dani and their kids when they move to Denver.
Decided to invite Tom and Dani and kids and Becky and kids over for Sunday dinner.
Had lots of fun.
Becky's in town for a while. We like seeing her and her kids more often.
Amy and Becky went to Thanksgiving Point, rode horses, petted animals, loved it.
Ava looks so grown up on the horse. Maybe it's just a small horse.
Ava rides a horse but is still deathly afraid of birds.
Ava wakes up in morning triumphantly stating that once again she did not fall into the water.
"See mommy, I didn't fall in the water!"
We don't know what this means.
We assume it is a good thing.
We celebrated six years of marital bliss yesterday.
Andelyn watched the kids-We ate at Carabba's and watched Iron Man(I didn't make her, she picked it) but I really liked it.
See! Isn't it a great way to write? Grandma was brilliant. Each one of those statements could have been a paragraph and if they were then you wouldn't have read them.

Disneyland!
As many of you know we made a short trip to Disneyland at the beginning of April. We are just now getting around to documenting it.
We left on a thursday night and drove as far as Primm, Nevada where we had a room reserved. Little did we know, it was the Dirt Track Drag Racing tournament (Drag cars that is) that weekend in Primm and it took over 35 minutes to check in because there were so many people in line at 11:00 pm.
On Friday we traveled the rest of the way to Marianne's an then on to Disneyland. The look on Ava's face when she recognized where we were was priceless. She was so excited and suddenly so well behaved! We spent most of our time near the carousel, Dumbo and last but not least the teacups. After all of these rides we realized Koben was not enjoying any of them like he used to. We thought maybe he was just irritable from the long ride. However; thanks to the clinic they have at Disneyland, we discovered he had a fever. I'm sure it must have been great for him to be spinning around and bouncing up and down on the rides all day. He was pretty much miserable for the whole rest of the trip.
An expanation of the first five pictures: We had been prepping Ava to greet Minnie for the whole trip because she usaully just runs away or doesn't go up at all. Well this time she ran up to her very excitedly but then froze. Amy helped her get turned around for the picture and then you can see her expression change progressively in the pictures. She goes from hesitant to nervous to annoyed and then displeased. But as soon as Minnie took her hands off Ava's shoulders she ran over to us and was completly thrilled that she had seen her.
We tried to stay late for the fireworks but they were cancelled due to the wind. We went back on Saturday and did more of the same rides, it was really a lot of fun.
Hotel Goldthorpe
We wanted to throw in a plug for Hotel Goldthorpe. We highly recommend their accomodations and amenities. Not to mention the owners will treat you just like you are family. These pictures were taken just outside the entrance. I understand they are swamped with visitors around spring break so get your reservations in early. (Thanks Marianne and Steven)
