It's only a month late, but Ava turned four in November. We love having her around and she is such a good sister to her brothers.

Pictures of Vance

Vance is such a good baby and super cute. He has just started smiling. He is getting so big and not looking so much like a newborn any more.

Both of our kids really like to read books with mom or dad but lately Koben has really liked reading one book in particular. It is "Hop on Pop" by Dr. Suess. Koben has a hard enough time pronouncing his words anyway, but when he gets excited he talks really fast and he eventually gets into a high pitched girly scream by the end of the sentence. This is hilarious and he does it nearly every night so I thought I would catch it on camera for everyone else to see. Sorry the video is kind of long and he doesn't really start getting funny until the end, but it's worth it. Enjoy!

Vance Wilson Lillywhite

Koben holding his new baby brother, I think they will have a lot of fun together.
The proud sister!

So cute right from the start

Obviously the epidural is working!
The day before, sorry the pics are out of order.

I couldn't decide whether to give everyone the play by play of how the the events surrounding Vance's birth unfolded or just post a few pictures and call it good. However, given the length of some of my blog entries that are as insignificant as squishing a fly, the birth of my third child ought to stand out as blogworthy!

If any of you have talked to Amy in the last couple of weeks you would know that she has been very nervous about how things would turn out. With Koben's birth, things didn't work out with the epidural and Amy ended up having Koben naturally. To make things worse, she had to wait to push him out because the doctor was doing a c-section and wouldn't be availabe for a half an hour. Anyway all of this led Amy to be very nervous about this birth.

As of the 1st Amy felt pretty good and had only had a few consistent contractions and they hadn't been that painful yet. Somehow Amy knew that she would not be lucky enough to get to just meander into the hospital for her scheduled delivery the next morning. That being said we went to bed because her contractions had subsided and Amy even fell asleep fairly quickly. (Something that hadn't happened in a couple of weeks!) Only an hour and a half later Amy woke up with the urge to pee. When she did, it just didn't stop and she knew her water had broken at 1:00 in the morning with no real contractions. So we rushed to the hospital, forgetting half the stuff we had packed previously. The nice thing about having your water break is that they can't tell you that you are not in labor due to a lack of contractions. They admitted her, she had great nurses, the epidural worked great, she only had to push two times and the baby came out and was healthy. We were so relieved and happy. His stats are: 7 lbs 4 oz , 20 inches, born on Septmeber 2, 2009 at 7:20 am

Also we waited to find out the sex of the baby until he was born so that was king of exciting. Amy and I had kind of felt like it was going to be a girl, judging by how the pregnancy went. However most of the other family members who guessed said it was a boy. So in this case it turns out our little Violet grew a stem!

We only stayed one night in the hospital, and have now returned home and are loving having a new baby in the house. I forget how much of my sleep time they require, but they are so fun to have around.

We have also enjoyed having lots of family around and know we probably wouldn't be able to enjoy the baby so much without them around. Nana, Adam and Jessalyn, and Brad and Michelle have all taken turns watching our kids and even letting them stay the night at their houses and we really appreciate it.

Does squishing a fly count as a national headline?

If so, hold the press! Ava just squished a doozy with a toy plate! She was very proud of herself.
Recently she has been very interested in how we swat flies. It doesn't help that the the sight of a fly petrifies her. So when this fly came around and Ava had a swatter of sorts in hand, the fly didn't have a chance. So congratulations Ava on your recent takedown and we will be expecting a letter from PETA once this post is published to the world.

In Ava's other combat news she has now posted all her princesses between the blinds to ward off any belligerent activity in the parking lot during viewings.

We don't know how she managed to pry all of these toys into the blinds but it was pretty funny. The toys are all facing the parking lot as if they are watching something important.

In other exciting news, Ava just started taking swimming lessons this week. Her major progress in the class has consisted of singing a princess song to the boy teacher, kicking her feet in the water and blowing bubbles under water. Good Job Ava!

Disneyland

After a year of Ava begging us to take her, we finally took another trip to Disneyland. It was so fun with the kids. We also went with Adam, Jessalyn, Karson, my Mom, and Andy.

We started out at Medieval Times. The kids loved it! Koben really liked the sword fighting, and the drinks!

This is all of us on the small world ride. It was a favorite with the kids so we got to ride it a few too many times.

Riding the carousel and standing in front of the castle. These are a few of Ava's favorite things.

We let Ava wear her Cinderella dress to the park the seconds day. She was in heaven. She told everyone there that she was a princess! So cute!

St.George

Ahoy there! We are back to blogging. We thought we would document our recent trip to St. George with Marianne, Steven and Hunter. We had a great time and took a few pictures. Enjoy!
We went hiking in Snow Canyon. Notice the two rocks Koben has in his hands. He later pounded on his Dad's head with them.
An old fire truck that we jumped on and decided to take some pictures.
Hunter, Ava and Koben. They never look at the camera at the same time.

Funny Video of Koben

Koben fell asleep on the way home from church, but he very clearly could still hear what we were doing. We won't mention what anonymous sound made him laugh before the camera was rolling.

Snowmobiling

I went snowmobiling today up at Payson canyon with Jessalyn's brothers, Jared and Garrett and their cousin Seth. Well I guess Garrett didn't really get to go, he bumped a tree while climbing and broke a rod end on his steering and had to limp his snowmobile back to the truck after only 20 minutes of riding. Unfortunately he missed out on last weeks ride too because he had to take a friend to the hospital after a tubing accident. So maybe next time he will be able to go without any misfortune. Other than that the day was great. It was sunny , there was plenty of new snow and my snowmobile ran the whole time. That's always a good day for me! We took several photos but we mostly got a lot of videos because it is so much easier to catch the action. So I am going to try and post a few good videos that we had. Jared is riding the red snowmobile, Seth's is black and mine is blue with the fat guy on it.
This is one of many occasions where Seth got stuck, the only reason he gets stuck more than us is because he actually tries to do more challenging things, steeper climbs, bigger jumps etc..

Jared actually got some pretty good air on this jump I just took the picture at the wrong time. It is hard to time with our digital camera.

This picture is a still shot of the hill we are climbing in most of the videos that will follow.

Videos

Seth jumping pretty far and making it look easy.

Me nearly killing the cameraman--Seth

I made it to the top without nearly injuring someone.

Another Grandma Wilson Version Post.

I always get behind on updating our blog about some of the fun and or exciting things we occasionally do. So I decided to post a few pictures and write a few lines describing them in my Grandma Wilson's style. For those of you are reading this and are not familiar with her style, it is that she could be terse and concise in conversation when she wanted to be. Of course, she wasn't always like that, just when she wanted to be.

Amy is pregnant again. She is excited. (As you can see from the picture) :)
Amy didn't have to tell me that she was pregnant because I already knew, due to the fact that I was gaining sympathy weight before she told me.
We visited the Smith Hotel in Arizona earlier this month. I would highly recommend their accomodations. Guests get the master suite. The staff was great too. Arizona is great this time of year. (Thanks Jim and Becky, we had a lot of fun, sorry everybody got sick after we left.)
Amy and I went to a Jazz game, Amy's first. We got thirteenth row seats thanks to one of our vendors at the mort. We loved it!
I went snowboarding a little while ago with Andy. Thanks to my total lack of muscles when I fell I was able just to "Gumbi" down the mountain with little or no injury.
Amy has been so sick with this pregnancy again, she is once again losing weight while her tummy gets bigger, it is quite strange.

More

We discovered on our trip to Arizona that our kids can actually behave for long periods of time in a car. (With a DVD player of course)
The kids also like to hold hands in the car too. This was totally unprompted by anyone and was so sweet.
We show everyone how cute Kai and Hunter are, no one can believe his red hair and especially eyelashes.
Koben has discovered that no matter how old you are or how far you are over the weight limit, it is still fun to swing in a baby swing.
Karson had his first birthday. We had a big bash. He is getting so lively and entertaining. We love being so close to him.

AVA

We just had to share these pictures of Ava, she is so funny! We put her to bed without any of these toys around her except the one at the very far left. (a tinkerbell twirly toy from Disneyland) When we went back in a half an hour or so, she had all of these toys stacked around her. It is kind of hard to see from the picture but there is at least 3 separate Minnie Mouses, Minne Mouse ears, baby Emma doll, tinkerbell twirly and at least one unidentified toy under the large Minnie. Oh yeah and a sippy cup, just in case she gets thirsty. She woke up nearly an hour later, about 11:00 p.m. and had a headache from the Minnie ears.

The other picture is a funny one from when Koben got a tool kit for Christmas and Ava tried on the goggles.

Koben's 2nd Birthday Party

Despite all the complaints we are going to recieve from Koben (in years to come) and all those who are "Lucky" enough to have a birthday around Christmas, we held over some gifts from Christmas and gave them to him on his birthday. We had very good reasons though. The main reason is that he started refusing to open his gifts on Christmas morning. After several gifts, he just wanted to play with the ones he had and be left alone. In our defense we did have at least one gift we had just purchased specifically for his birthday.

The video above shows when he is eating his cake and he realized that Amy is videotaping. He loves to see himself on camera.

We got him a Tonka truck, which he has been using to haul stuff around and occasionaly he hauls his own buns around too!

And the best gift of all is of course Koben. We love you Koben!

Christmas 2008

We had a great Christmas this year.

It was so fun to see the kids open their presents. Ava asked Santa for Cinderella Panties, a Cinderella dress and a Cinderella kitchen. (She really likes Cinderella) She has been wearing the Cinderella dress and shoes everyday since then. Koben even liked the cinderella kitchen but he really like the car garage he got.

We had fun opening gifts at home and then we went to Amy's parents house for the traditional Christmas breakfast of Swedish Pancakes. It was so good. We wish we could have seen Frank's parents as well, but Frank was on call Christmas day. Luckily he didn't get any calls.
